特斯拉CEO:禁止電動車直銷新規(guī)“變態(tài)”

美國新澤西州出臺新規(guī),禁止廠家向消費者直銷電動汽車,特斯拉被迫將銷售門店改為“陳列室”。特斯拉CEO埃隆?穆斯克在公司博客撰文反擊稱,特斯拉搞直銷是迫于無奈,現(xiàn)在新澤西州政府出臺這樣的禁令很“變態(tài)”。

????穆斯克寫道,特斯拉公司之所以決定使用直銷模式,很大程度上是由于它認(rèn)為,經(jīng)銷商在推廣傳統(tǒng)汽油汽車還是推廣電動汽車上存在根本的利益沖突,因為汽油車幾乎貢獻(xiàn)了他們的所有利潤,而電動汽車幾乎沒有任何利潤。

????穆斯克還指出,經(jīng)銷商之所以不愿意銷售電動汽車,還因為特斯拉的新技術(shù)要求經(jīng)銷商必須投入額外的人員培訓(xùn);另外,特斯拉電動車相對汽油車的保養(yǎng)成本更低,這一點非常重要——經(jīng)銷商的大部分利益來自維修保養(yǎng)等服務(wù)。因此,“他們必然會賣容易賺錢的車,而新公司就GAME OVER了”。

????穆斯克還指出,像菲斯科和Coda等嘗試通過經(jīng)銷商系統(tǒng)賣車的電動汽車創(chuàng)業(yè)公司最終都失敗了。

????就連傳統(tǒng)汽車廠商也很難吸引經(jīng)銷商去賣自己的電動汽車。據(jù)汽車網(wǎng)站Edmunds.com今年2月報道,通用汽車子品牌凱迪拉克的首款插電式混動豪車ELR就遇到了經(jīng)銷商集體“罷售”的尷尬。凱迪拉克在美國的940家經(jīng)銷商中,有近半決定不銷售2014款ELR。

????高德納介紹道,2013年美國大約賣出了94,000臺電動汽車。其中新澤西州占2%到3%,成為全美購買電動汽車的第十大州。

????Tesla is determined to use the direct sales model largely because the company believes that dealers have a fundamental conflict of interest between promoting gasoline cars, which makes up nearly all of their revenue, and electric cars, which constitute virtually none, Musk wrote.

????Dealers aren't incentivized to sell EVs, Musk argued, because their new technology require additional employee training and less maintenance -- critical, because most dealer profits are made by servicing vehicles. "Inevitably, they revert to selling what's easy and it is game over for the new company," Musk wrote.

????Other electric car startup companies, such as Fisker and Coda, tried to use the auto dealer system. All failed, Musk wrote.

????Even incumbent automakers have had difficulty compelling dealers to sell electric vehicles. Cadillac, owned by General Motors, has had its own problems motivating dealers to sell its luxury ELR plug-in hybrid, the brand's first such vehicle. Nearly half of Cadillac's 940 dealers in the U.S. decided not to sell the 2014 ELR, according to a February Edmunds report.

????About 94,000 electric vehicles were sold in the U.S. in 2013, Gartner said. Two to three percent of those U.S. EV sales were in New Jersey, making it the tenth-largest state in terms of electric vehicle purchases, he added.

????"New Jersey is a reasonably large market, and while it's not clear what percentage of those sales were from Tesla, they definitely had a presence," Gartner said. "At least for now, it closes one window [of opportunity] for them -- an important one."
